SLOTBET The goal of the Kurdistan Women’s Alliance is to achieve a civil and democratic society in which social justice and equality are provided and ensuring the elimination of all forms of discrimination and violence against women, within the framework and approach of the strategy of the Kurdistan Region.
This goal cannot be achieved without a real participation and partnership between men and women in the decision-making positions and public life.

The sixth term of the parliamentary elections is scheduled to take place on November 18, 2023. The election law will be amended. In order to amend the election law in line with the demands and guarantee the rights of the majority of the Kurdish people and to ensure equality between men and women in the upcoming terms of the Parliament, the Kurdistan Women’s Alliance submitted a proposal to the Speaker of Parliament which includes:

Amending Article 4 of the Fourth Amendment to the National Council of Kurdistan / Iraq Elections Law (No. 1 of 1992 and its amendments) as follows:
4 – Each political entity in the Iraqi Kurdistan may submit its own list of candidates at the level of the Iraqi Kurdistan, and the percentage of women candidates should not be less than 50%, and it should be organized to ensure this percentage.

All these indicators ensure the existence of a large number of qualified women in the fields of administration, politics, legal, economic, academic, etc in the region. Therefore, there is no reason that prevents the achievement of equality between men and women in the Parliament, and we expect from all the political entities in the region to support women and support the proposal of the Kurdistan Women’s Alliance.
Also, the Kurdistan Region cannot face and overcome the threats and challenges without the participation and partnership of women and this cannot be achieved without developing women’s capacities and benefiting from their rich experiences.
