A High level delegation from the Federal German visits the center of Emma in Dohuk

On 6-4-2023, a high level delegation from the German government accompanied by a number of representatives from the German parliament visited the center of Emma organization in Dohuk. The delegation included the German government’s envoy for freedom of religion and belief Mr. Frank Schwabe, and the member of the German parliament, Mr. Darya Turk.
The purpose of the visit was to conduct consultative discussions with a number of organizations that work in the field of Yazidi affairs and Yazidi women and girls.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Director of Emma organization Ms. “Bahar Ali thanked the delegation for their efforts and support to the women and the girls who survived ISIS and for supporting the recognition of the Yazidis genocide.
A number of organizations’ representatives that work on the rehabilitation of survivors such as lawyers and volunteers joined the meeting also.
The meeting focused on listening to women’s demands to investigate the survivors of ISIS and monitoring the implementation of law to compensate the survivors of ISIS.
The Director of Emma briefed the delegation about the services and activities of Emma to support the survivors, and their continued efforts to ensure a safe and better life to them.
At the end of the meeting, the delegation thanked the participants for their active role to support peace and stability and women’s issues.

Emma Organization for Human Development was founded in 2013 by three female activists with a vision to advance the role of women in society, promote gender equality and empower women in Kurdistan. “Emma” is a Kurdish term meaning (WE) and is the concept by which this organization functions as a unit working together as "One Team" from different cultural backgrounds and religious beliefs to achieve goals and rebuild lives.
