Stronger futures
for women
across Kurdistan

Women in Kurdistan face deeply rooted threats of gender-based violence. Emma addresses the underlying causes of GBV through awareness campaigns, community education, and programs that empower women before crisis occurs.

Holistic service delivery

Emma provides comprehensive, community-based care through social-medical rehabilitation centres in Erbil and Dohuk. Every woman receives coordinated support — from psychosocial counseling and medical care to legal assistance and safe housing.

Our case managers guide each survivor through every step of recovery, ensuring no one falls through the cracks. Services are also extended through mobile teams that reach women in remote and vulnerable communities.

Women supported by Emma — including Yazidi survivors of ISIS captivity — face severe trauma, social rejection, and barriers to reintegration. Emma provides vocational training, peer support groups, legal aid, and life skills programs to help them rebuild independence and dignity.
