Emma Organization for Human Development was founded in Erbil, Kurdistan with one clear purpose, to defend human rights and empower women. For over a decade, we have been a trusted voice for the vulnerable, providing support, raising awareness, and pushing for lasting change in our communities.

Like the communities who stand beside us, Emma Organization is focused on creating long-term change by supporting women affected by violence, discrimination, and inequality. Our vision is clear — a Kurdistan where every woman lives free, safe, and empowered.
The women we work with face deeply rooted barriers — from gender-based violence and limited legal protection to social stigma and lack of access to mental health support. Emma is here to break those barriers, one woman at a time.
