Online course of Ethics of Humanitarian Media

On 9/2/2020, the International Organization for Migration (IOM)held a session on Ethics of Humanitarian Media via Skype from 9:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. for a group of persons who are interested in this field under the supervision of Professor Hassan Mahmoud and Rafael Abdul Latif, in which the two of the Emma Organization for Human Development’s staff participated in to improve their skills.

The course dealt with several aspects of media work such as taking a better photo on the phone, basics of storytelling for social media, best practices of social media and media relations. The role of the media person and how to develop oneself in this field were two of the important topics in the course.

The light has been shed on the techniques that the photographer or media person must deal with accurately and diligently, for example taking the consent of the person before posting the pictures and information on social media platforms, as well as how to build a report to attract a large number of people.

One of the participants said that"I benefited from the course many things, for example; how to take the picture well and be clear, how to differentiate between the clear and unclear picture, arranging the place before taking the picture because the arrangement and decoration of the place has a great impact on taking the picture better and clearer."

Emma Organization for Human Development is still in constantly to support both its beneficiaries and its staff to enable and enhance their capabilities and build a bright future for them.
