Meeting organized by Emma and Women Peace Group in Kurdistan parliament

Emma Organization for Human Development, Women leaders for Peace Group in Kurdistan with the help of Norwegian People's Aid (NPA) and the board of women rights supports held a meeting on the 4th of December 2017 in Kurdistan parliament.

The meeting was attended by the Head of Kurdistan parliament, the Deputy Head of the parliament, the Secretary of the parliament, Legal Experts, Academics, MPs, Women peace group, the Board of women rights in Kurdistan parliament, Lawyers and politicians.

The meeting displayed the results of the research made by two researchers who have studied and got benefit from the experiences of other countries regarding the law of the political parties in Kurdistan and the law of financial support for the political parties as well as a suggestion to amend the laws in a way that will guarantee more participation of women in the political field and decision making.

The specialist committee in the parliament agreed on presenting these suggestions to the presidency of the parliament and paid a great attention to this issue in order work on the necessary amendments in the current parliamentary cession .
