Knitting course starts in Emma center in Duhok

Emma community center in Duhok has started on the 13th of August a knitting course for 13 displaced women and girls.

The course will last for ten days as one of the women said " I am so excited to learn knitting, winter will arrive in a few months and I can use knitting to make some clothes and hats for my children instead of buying them , this will save money for me and my family .. maybe I can make more for others and sell them to earn some financial support for my family ".

Knitting might have a link to mental health; in particular it may have a direct impact on mental health. Some even consider it as an alternative to psychological treatment… needlework, threading, and diversity in thread colors and texture may have some impact on mental health and reduce anxiety.
