Emma organization for Human Development in has organized the 3rd Lalish conference for Human Development supported by the American University of Kurdistan Duhok province on the 25-26 of April, 2017.
The main topic of the conference that Emma organization has been holding for the third year on raw was (Prosecuting Atrocity Crimes and Terrorism: A Worldwide Obligation)
The 3rd Lalish conference was attended by more than 150 people including high figure personalities , Lecturers , MPs , Professors , President of Darfur Women Action Group, UNHCR, Gender Advisors, United Nations Missions to Iraq (UNAMI), academics , lawyers and activists from different parts of the world , this conference was covered by local TV channels as Kurdistan 24 Channel in Live broadcasting.
Discussions included many issues such as the situation of women in the region in general specially Yazidi women and Shinkal as well as its effects on them ,the status of women in the independence of Kurdistan, experiences of other countries in Genocide and how to deal with it in order not to be repeated again in addition to recognizing this issue and documenting
The conference included three panels:
Panel I talked about Revisiting Genocide Experience: Recognition and Protection
Panel II talked about Self-determination, Conflict Resolution and Coexistence
Panel III talked about Effects of War on Women.
